Characters: Fae

Ch01-04

Asked to make a claustrophobic-style shot, Jamil did not disappoint with how Fae's room aboard the Hinge looks. With the wonderful "viewscreen" playing an old, outdated and glitched 'serene' landscape, it's not wonder this old junker of a ship went out of style almost a century ago.

Originally designed to build Wormrings for the Luminous expanse, this model uses a technology that is all-but banned in the Conglomerate. The Ripper-Drive, as it is currently named, tears a hole in the fabric of reality before the ship and pulls it into a place that is called Nullspace.

Nullspace, considered some kind of a transient existence, is widely unknown and any attempt to discern what it is has resulted in the loss of the entire crew.

The one massive benefit to using Nullspace is that you can traverse all of the known galaxy within the span of two weeks. The downside is that if you're going from planet-to-planet or across the entire galaxy, the Ripper always takes two weeks to complete the voyage due to the impossible calculations required by the massive computational device located in the nose of the ship.

Due to the completion of the Conglomerate Wormways, the rising safety concerns of Nullspace and the complexity of the Ripper-Drive, Rippers were discontinued from major use. They are now mostly only used by smugglers and those desperate enough to want to chance being torn asunder, turned to soup or disappearing into Nullspace forever.

As we've seen, this crew is not really up on "safety".

  1. I’m loving the use of clutter and scenery in this one. This comic is visually appealing overall- It will probably take quite a few pages to really get going, but you at least have an interesting opening scene.
I’ll be sure to pay attention to this one. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Daab! It will take about 14 pages to get to the ‘start’ of the interesting part. Gotta get people to have a feel for the characters and such. There are 16 chapters total. Each chapter is about 25 pages. We hope you enjoy the story, art and experience! 🙂
